Generation
Sophia University focuses on the innovation that emerges from differences in generations and perspectives, emphasizing "collaboration among students, faculty, and staff." We strive to create a foundation where members from diverse social backgrounds and eras can reassess each other's values and leverage their respective strengths, from building a supportive environment to putting ideas into practice.

University Press Club - "Sophia Topics"
In the “Sophia Topics" section of the Center for Student Affairs' official website “FIND SOPHIA," university-accredited student reporters plan, interview, and write articles, while staff members proofread and publish them, collaborating to manage the site. Although FIND SOPHIA is a media outlet for students, Sophia Topics has an audience that includes high school students and their parents, and therefore plays an important role in disseminating information to the wider community.

SSIC(Sophia Student Integration Commons)
The Sophia Student Integration Commons (SSIC), which was established to promote communication among students, also conducts activities in which faculty and staff participate. In FY2023, SSIC held about 20 exchange events between Japanese and international students, including a tour to experience Japanese culture with a Japanese tea ceremony and a visit to the Atomic Bomb Dome in Hiroshima. These events provide opportunities for faculty and staff to engage in conversation with students and create deeper mutual understanding.
Revitalizing Faculty-Staff Collaboration
Research on Innovation in Teaching and Staff Collaboration
Sophia University conducts research on innovation through collaboration between faculty and staff in order to achieve a “knowledge-based model of independence, collaboration, and creativity” and to further develop Sophia University as a “world-class university”.
The collaboration between faculty and staff, or staff working together beyond the framework of their departments, to conduct feasible research and policy proposals for reforming the university’s education and research systems is also a development of the university’s overall organizational networking capabilities, contributing to the improvement of organizational strength.
To Sophia Students
“Student Information Service” has been established so that students who do not know which department to consult or are not sure whether they should consult with the university can feel free to ask questions or make inquiries.
Depending on the details of the consultation, students will be connected to various departments of the Health and Wellbeing Center, other departments of the university and to external organizations if it’s needed.
